KUALA LUMPUR: A commando pleaded not guilty today in the High Court to possessing a T-shirt bearing a symbol associated with the Islamic State (IS) or Daesh militant group.
Mohd Abu Haliff Shah Abu Bakar, 29, nodded after the charge was read out to him before Judge Datuk Azman Abdullah.
The judge set March 9 for mention of the case.
Mohd Abu Halif Shah, who is with the Sungai Udang Camp in Melaka, was charged with committing the offence at a house in Kampung Baru, Mukim Lambor Kiri, Bota, Perak, on Nov 12 last year.
Deputy public prosecutor Noor Svetlana Mohd Noor Nordin appeared for the prosecution while Mohd Abu Halif Shah was represented by counsel Andrew Lourdes and M. Shangeeta. — BERNAMA
